Gold Medals

Have you been watching the Olympics? Can't believe some of these amazing people who train so hard every single day of their lives and then get a gold medal in 12 sec or less. (track and field). Or Michael Phelps with 19 gold Medals, WOW.  I feel like I didn't get the chance to train half of my life to do the job I do, but I know I've made it when my house becomes a home to my family.
Yesterday morning I hear Kain wake up and say, "It's morning time" I figured he was talking to Austin but I looked over and Austin was in MY bed, asleep. I went into Kain's room and he was playing with his tooth fairy pillow and Austin's tooth fairy pillow. (A baseball player and super hero). He looked up and smiled at me and says, "Mama, I've been dreaming of you all night" How does that not make a mom's day?!
This house is always busy.. I feel like somedays, I never even sit down for one second and it's not just my kids that need me, it's the neighborhood kids that stop by or our unplanned play dates that get scheduled in the moment: Austin, "MOM, can Jack come over today" as we are walking to our car after bible camp.., me: "ok, Jack get in the back of the car." They know the drill.
It's fun and tiring, but I wouldn't change one minute of it. Sometimes we have so many kids here, I have to look through my freezer for extra popsicles, run through the garage to see if I have enough juice boxes and beware of Austin's new "eating healthy" plan to keep him grounded with his snacks and to make sure the other kids get"their"snacks so no one feels out of place.
And one day my girlfriend stayed so long it was lunchtime and we were both hungry. I felt like Meme would have been proud, I could just hear her saying, "always have something ready for those unexpected guests" and that I did. My girlfriend even commented, "how do you do it". I just smiled.

Besides all the fun, I cant believe this Miss is going to turn 1. I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? I was carrying her down the hallway tonight to give her a bath, just like I did when she was a baby and she did not like any part of it. I had to move her to my hip so she can see the rest of what was going on.

BEAR DOWN... Yup, we live in LA, but my kids will always be fans of Chicago Teams. (So we can only hope) GO CUBS!
So they all get dressed in the "Bears" jersey's and decided to play a little football with Eric.

 Ahh, my thinker....
 And my stinker
 And my most favorite crew!
I'm much more concerned with my loved ones knowing how much I treasure them... They are ALL my GOLD MEDALS.
