Memorial Day Weekend

We had a good weekend. Finally feel like we are getting things accomplished before the big move. We purchased a new set of bunk beds (white, with Capt'n drawers) and a HUGE ladder as Austin would like to say. It takes about 6 weeks to arrive so it should be there just in time! And we found a new pull out sofa and possibly a kitchen table. But we have to wait to purchase these until we have the keys to the new house so we can pick it up and bring it right over.
Besides our furniture shopping..........we had some fun too. (although I must say, the boys really enjoyed trying out EVERYTHING in the furniture stores....)

We had a fun with our friends at the Hermosa Beach Fair on Monday. Thomas and Anna are friends of ours. Their Dad and Eric work together at EA. They moved here from London. Such a cool family!

Austin's favorite ride.. The HUGE slide!

Having lunch. It was so packed, we decided to stop looking for a table and just sat the kids down to eat. Everyone was just as happy!

And the best part of all... Gelato!
Let's just say the Fair really wore Kain out.

silly boys

These two are so silly. They BOTH want to ride on this bike... so they made a compromise. I don't know.. do you think Kain is happy about it?Today was so random, but they played out in our "front yard" It's actually pretty out there--it's just where Peyten usually goes... so if it's icky, I don't walk around in that grass. But today it was ok. The boys found a "secret door" that leads to the back patio...It was quite the adventure.
The boys ate dinner out there tonight on the picnic table.
It actually is quite pretty with all the Palm trees and bushes.
Austin is checking out the neighbors.
busted!

What a weekend!

We've had quiet the eventful weekend. Not only did we celebrate 7 years of Wedding Bliss.... we also had a lot of "other"events to celebrate as well.. Eric and I enjoyed a nice night out in West Hollywood last night at Koi. Very cool restaurant! We both ate so much, we had to skip breakfast this morning as we were still full.

Today we became members of our church we joined, Rolling Hills United Methodist in Rolling Hills (PV). It was really nice. They asked us to come up to the front of the church and they introduced all the families joining. They started with us and wished us a Happy Anniversary then told the story of how we met. It was sweet. Kain joined us-but Austin went to to Sunday school. At the end of the service we joined the service line and everyone shook our hands to welcome us. Austin eventually joined us so everyone could meet him. Kain was Hi-fiving everyone and doing the fist pump, while Austin hid behind Eric.

Tonight we celebrated Austin's last Awana class as a "Cubbie" in September he will graduate to a Spark. (which he is very excited about) They had a program for all the parents as well as the Awards ceremony. It was very cute and as you will see, Austin LOVES the program. His teacher, "Miss Carol" is a very extraordinary lady. She actually started taking my aerobics class, so I do get to see her all the time. (she lost over 250 lbs. on her own, no surgery) and is doing everything she can to keep up with this rowdie bunch! She says she is very tired at the end of the night with them.

Poor Kain, right before the program started he threw up all over his shirt and broke into a fever. Although he really enjoyed seeing his brother and everyone sing, he was quite miserable towards the end. We think it is his last molar coming in because he was drooling and chewing his finger during the entire program. Once we came home, we put him to bed.
Check out the video's. Such a cute program. So glad I found this for Austin as you can tell he really enjoys every minute of it! We are very proud of him. Hopefully Kain will be just as excited to join when he turns 3.!

Baseball and Circus Vargas

This weekend was Austin's last T-ball game. Kinda sad to say good-bye to the season, but moving onto other things!
Aria and Kain loved hanging out not only at practice, but at all the games. They sure kept each other entertained!

Austin finished off really strong. His batting totally improved, hitting all the way out to the outfield

And he got to play his favorite position, Catcher.
He did so well. he was catching all the balls.

Believe it or not, it started to rain during the game.
Austin really enjoyed playing T-ball. He made a lot of new friends, got to play all the positions, had very long practices during the week, but it was all worth it. I think it's a sport we will sign up for again next spring. As for now, we are retiring the White Sox jersey No.9.
Today we took to the boys to the Circus in Hollywood. They loved it!
They couldn't wait to see what was inside the "huge tent"

Just look at these faces....

See the HOLLYWOOD Sign in the background?
Onto a new week.. lots of things going on this week, but as usual, we will not have a dull moment!

Mom's Day 2011

I must say, Kain's new smile cracks me up. Good thing we think he's such a cute kid.. b/c this smile well... you fill in the blank! We had so much fun at Disneyland. It was VERY packed-guess everyone had the same idea as us to go, but it turned out to be a beautiful day!
We really wanted to go on this ride, but Austin wasn't having any part of it!Waiting in line for the race cars...
Our little Mickey Mouse
Frozen Lemon-aid's with Buzz Light year straws.
Austin and dad playing a video game
The marching band that performed for Mom's day
At the end of the day and only 3 rides down (seriously the lines were 45-1hr. wait each) we ended up at this car place where you custom make your own car. I thought the Buzz Light year straws were a good treat, but Eric had other plans....You guessed it, each of them custom made cars, except Austin got a remote control car and Kain's is a push car.

they were pretty excited to say the least. Kain could barely hold his "garage" box
Sooner or later,... Kain will bring back his cute little smile.!
We had a great day.

And we ended for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Thinking the boys would love to see all the animals... but it turned out Kain would not leave one of our laps and Austin was sitting so close to me, I could barely pick up my food to enter my mouth!
But.. no complaining here, this is why I love being a mom!
