Christmas Break

We've been having fun this week while off of school...We went bowling at Lucky Strike (here with our friend, Cosmo).

We went to see Santa.. (only Austin sat on his lap). He asked for a Chicago Cubs Bear.
We have hung out with eachother..
Taken nice warm bath's at night
Spent a lot of time with Friends
And slept. (yeah, right.. only these 2 sleep). Nothing like, Father, Like daughter.
Oh, and Mela dressed up in her 1st Christmas dress...

What have you been up to this week? Merry Christmas Eve, Eve!

"7 more days" As The boys would say

Austin did a great job at his Christmas concert this past week. Do you see him hidden amongst the Kindergartners before singing his Christmas songs?

After the kids sang, they all got to decorate Gingerbread houses.
Ms. Stadler (his teacher) said he did the best job on his house.
And Eric had a lot of fun spending this time with him!

I was lucky to be home this past week, but as the saying goes, I was just about 10 minutes too late. I feel blessed to have been able to spend this time with Meme and the rest of the family! We all know that Pa lived a good life and loved each and every one of us. He would light up a room and our hearts. Friday turned out perfect and we all know he was smiling down on us, especially Meme, Saying, "That was nice Kay, I enjoyed it"!
He will forever be missed.

The "real" gifts of Christmas cannot be bought. The "real" gifts are the people in your life.

December is such a busy month!

December is such a busy month with all the Holiday Celebrations, but we still find time to fit everything else into our usually busy schedule. Mela is adjusting just great with the hustle and bustle. She's getting out of her "Fussy" phase and just learning that she's got to go with the flow of the chaos and she fits right in. I think we will keep her. !!
We made cookies the other day after school. I thought since we have been separated so much between Eric and I taking turns with the kids while Mela is recovering, I thought, since I have everyone around, why not make some Christmas cookies after school. We put the homework aside, Tae Kwon Do we skipped for another day and we had a blast!
Kain is always the first to sit right next to me to get the first lick of the spoon.. and play in the sugar and mess..(but I don't mind it)!
Austin was busy making hand made decorations for the tree.
See Kain in the background? He's probably got a little bit of cookie dough, not cooked cookie in his mouth.
Mela hung out and enjoyed us talking to her and Kain signing Christmas songs off a snow globe he had running in the background.
Can't forget this darn Elf... he watches us, tells on us and get's himself into the boys things every now and then.. but he's working like a charm... I like this guy!
Can't forget my newest soccer player, No.4. Kain was so excited to play soccer he was seriously jumping up and down for joy. He could not wait to get out on the field and play. He's the youngest. But no one seemed to care as he was dribbling the ball up and down the field and following the coach's directions exactly. Austin better watch out--Kain's up for the challenge!

And Austin Worked his way up to 4 stripes on his belt. He's kicking (no pun intended) his way up to the next belt, Orange which he will test for in January! He continues to make us proud of his determination and dedication. He takes this Tae Kwon Do job very seriously.. (Thank Goodness)
I took the boys to a birthday party for our old neighbor, Jaime. They boys had fun making their own pizza's and cupcakes. It was a little chilly so Mela and Eric stayed home.
Can you say Sugar Rush? Yup, this bad boy kept Kain up till 10:30p.... it was a long night!
The boys are enjoying eachother's company on these rainy days we've been having. Austin's been a great Big Brother and showing Kain the ropes of his DS...He's really hoping Santa brings him MarioCart7. I'm hoping it arrives in time!
And I'll leave you with Miss Mela.. What a drama queen! This is how she fell asleep today.!

It's that time of year..

Who needs to go to the mall when you can do all of your shopping on line... in you're PJ's!
Two out of the 3 most handsome little men in this household! (in their new Christmas PJ's)
Eric and Austin went out and found us a Christmas tree.. They searched near and far and came home with the best looking tree!
Austin was even able to lift it
And soon he would teach Kain
Of coarse with his gloves on so the sap doesn't get all over and make his little hands sticky.
Since Mela is sick, the boys have been very good to her. Austin decided it would be nice to read to her tonight and she listened and enjoyed it. (5 little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed).

It was so sweet!!!
About 30 min. after the boys went to bed we heard all this noise.. It was Santa coming down the street. Eric ran to get the boys up and hurried up front to get their shoes on. Kain layed back on the couch and fell asleep, Austin was still trying to figure out what was going on.. since he took so long, Eric grabbed his keys and drove them to where Santa was. They just made it. Austin watched with excitement, but at the last minute did not want to sit on his lap. Oh well, At least he can say, he went, he saw and HE BELIEVES.

Our tree is up! Stay tuned to see the finished product.
