Halloween Festivities

Starting out on Sunday, with Austin's "Crazy Hair Day" at Awana. Austin wanted blue hair.. but no spikes or anything else too wild. He won 3rd place and was very excited. It only took 3 shampoo's to wash it all out!
Monday was Austin's school parade. The kids got to dress up in their costumes and each grade was called upon to walk around and show off their costume. It was a lot of fun, but it was SO chilly out. Kain was not too excited about seeing all the costumes, I think it scared him a bit!
Ms. Stadler along with all the other teachers, grades K-5th dressed as construction workers. It was really cute!
Here's Austin's classmates.
Mela on the other hand was very content sleeping in the comfort of her own crib.
Look how cool our house looked! We had the best house on the block!
At 1p we had a party in Austin's classroom. He made a spider and we just hung around the classroom and watched all the kids eat their snacks. But I tell ya-he was very excited to have us there with him in his classroom.
Can you believe Mela is 5 weeks old today. She is weighing in at 10lbs. She is such a joy in our lives, can't hardly imagine what life was like before her. We are blessed!
Tonight Austin and Kain welcomed all their friends over for hotdogs and snacks while the adults enjoyed Tortilla soup and wine. It was so much fun...

Then we headed out to trick or treat. It was AWESOME! this neighborhood is so much fun.. can hardly wait till Christmas. People really do go all out on decorations!
The boys loved every minute of it!

But had just as much fun being at home to hand out candy (and check out what they got)!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Monster MASH @ Seaside

My 3 favorite Halloween kiddos....with their Halloween shirts on.
Mela's party dress
Anakin (from Star Wars) Getting ready for his monster Mash at school. (no light saber's allowed) but we're saving it for Halloween night.
The "Yellow" Wiggle and Anakin.
We walked down to the party with Megan (who was Rapunzel) minus her wig.
Austin and his buddy Stone. They all had fun running around, dancing to the music and playing games. It was a really fun party!
Stone's sister, Regan. (Kain's buddy)
Austin and Mathew
Austin's good buddy, Jack.
Oh and this is just a little extra. Kain and I decided to dress up little Mela. This is our favorite party dress. When Mela put this on... Kain dressed in his Wiggles costume again!
Have a happy, safe, fun and spooky Halloween. We will be busy today.. going on pony's rides, Chuck E Cheese for some fun, Pumpkin decorating and oh yeah--Crazy Hair night at Awana....Wait till next time to see what Austin is going to look like!!!

Oh the fun we have...

Oooh, scary!
Which pumpkin do we chose?
Kain wants them ALL!
The Pumpkin Cannon... once you see it, you'll never forget it!
And who could pass up the Corn Maze.... no, we did not get lost. Austin and Kain led us all the way through!
Mela was so bright eyed today!

She loves her crib. She does not sleep in it yet.. but she likes to lay in there and stare at her butterfly mobile.
Look who got their belt at Tae Kwon Do tonight........he's in fighting stance. We celebrated with making S'mores. so proud of Austin. He earned it!
And Kain, who now helps himself to his dinner... CORN!
Enjoy your week......Here's to hoping ours continues to go smoothly......

WE survived our 1st week as a family of 5

Well, we survived our 1st week.... We hit some highs... and some lows, but we figured it all out! And yet today we are all still smiling...Kain waits for his brother to get home from school. He watches from the window as one of his friends brings him home on one of the very few rainy days California has.
Today the "boys" got the house all ready for Halloween. We hear this is a very popular neighbor and of coarse we all need to participate in decorating.
Austin really enjoyed getting everything ready. He said the boys can decorate and the girls can watch.

oops, we ran out of lights, but not to worry we will get more..
Mela and I sat on the porch to watch. I think she liked to see all the bright lights they were hanging as it became darker. (look at that "Austin" face).
Here's Mela's room that we have decorated so far.. This is her newest blanket from Meme & Pa. It reads: Mela Bliss, Sept. 26th, 2011. She loves it! We are decorating her room with little owls. They are green/pink and brown. She got this new chair pillow, new lamp shade, pink bed sheet and a bumper that we will keep in there just long enough until she can move around. We are still looking for a rug and I think I've found these cute letters to spell out her name on the wall.
Mela stretching out in her crib.
Checking it all out.
I can never have the camera too far for sweet moments like this...
or this...
The boys like seeing her in the crib. Although she won't be in here for a while it's a nice safe place for her.

Kain loves his "Mela" he always says, "Mela, I luv you" I want to hold you. It's so sweet. Wherever Mela is.. Kain isn't far behind.
Look how cute they are.. Austin is reading the comics, Kain is talking to Mela, Eric is content.
