Feeding baby Elmo

As I was in the hallway this morning doing some laundry I see Kain running back and forth from his room to my room-first goes Elmo, then he drags his favorite blanket across the floor, next his baby.. I thought to myself, ok, he must be happy doing whatever it is he is doing-but I had to take a look see for myself.. then I ran to get my video camera.
What a sweet little boy I have. Wish I could just freeze this moment forever!

It's that time of year again.. AYSO Soccer!

Today was Austin's first AYSO Soccer game. Al is the coach again and Eric is the Assistant coach. Check out No.2....that's the jersey Austin was given and it seems to suit him well. He did an awesome job... those 2 weeks of soccer camp paid off (hopefully)! :)
Al got all the kids back from last year so it's fun to see all the parents and kids back together again.. The boys all get along great and all the parents just picked up where we all left off last January!
He is as fast as lightening on the field. He's doing so good getting the ball and turning it around for his goal.
NO.2.
Since there are 9 kids, Al only has 5 out on the field at a time. So they play 5/5. One extra kid stays in longer. It was nice because today was super hot.
We play at a new field in Hermosa Beach, no longer in Manhattan and the field is down in this hole where not much breeze comes through. Kain kept saying, "Mama, I'm hot, I want a Popsicle". We went though a bottle of water, apples and a granola bar... guess those didn't hit the spot..

Austin is starting off great and really shows his teamwork with the others. I can hear him yell at his friends like, "nice job"... They practice for 30 and have a 30 min. game. Today..it was so warm out.
We were surprised because we woke up to rain and thunder. Haven't heard that in over a year!

Check out our No.2 during warm-ups. Eric was helping coach by the goal. I think he likes being out there with those kids.. now if only he can remember this kid on the team who's name is Boady, not Brody the kid will listen.. (just kidding)!

The boys are back in school....

Today was a very much anticipated day.. no one had any sleep last night because Austin came in every hour to ask, "how many more minutes till Kindergarten?" He even was found in Kain's bed talking to him about school. (this was probably around 1am) Finally by 3am and the 10Th time asking, I told him to just get in my bed. He did and slept till about 6am. Then ran to wake Kain up to tell him to get ready for school. Kain was surprisingly on board! So they got dressed, brushed teeth and hair and brought their back-packs up front. Look at that smile and I thought it would be a rough morning.... maybe it was better they started on the same day!
I made Austin a Kindergarten sign that he could hold up.
Waiting on Megan to come out front and meet us.

Saying good-bye was super easy for them. I took Austin and Eric took Kain. (Austin was giving Kain a little pep talk about what's going to happen in pre-school)
Good-bye Hugs!
Here's Megan. She lives right across the street. She is such a sweet little girl. She is only 4 (turning 5 at the end of Sept.).
3 doors down are Megan's grandparents.
Look at these two... talking away about this and that... So proud that Austin was content and not upset that he was walking with a girl. They really seemed to get along great.
Megan and Austin looking for their name on the board to their classroom.
Checking things out.. Austin and Megan really stuck together. Megan knows a lot of the children so she was kind enough to introduce Austin to all of them. A majority of them are girls and again, Austin did great. He was nice and held out his hand to say hello. (I was so proud)!

Megan with her girlfriends-she says, "Come on Austin, get in the picture". He did just that!
School was out at 12 today and tomorrow. Starting on Monday he will go from 8:39a-1:59. We will continue to walk to and from school with Megan, luckily they ended up in the same classroom with 31 other students. There are 4 kindergarten classrooms.

Eric took Kain because I thought it would be easiest for all of us.. He walked right in like he knew what he was doing. Eric said he met a little girl and they ran off to the playground. Wow, If I would have known it was going to be that easy.....maybe I would have taken him. Let's see how next week goes when I drop him off...

After picking up Austin today we headed over to Kain's school. He was in the middle of lunch. We watched for a minute and then Austin couldn't stand it anymore-he ran over to him. Kain turned and had the biggest smile ever. Lunch was over very quickly. (Normally Kain will be picked up at 12) and have lunch at home with me. He can stay for a "stay and play" from 12-2 for $5/hr. if he ever wants to, but for now.. I want him home with me.
he was showing Austin the "Ropes" at his pre-school.
They were both happy to be re-united and hear about each other's day. I was just happy to have my boys back in the car.... AND let the chaos begin again!
This afternoon we made cookies and brought them over to Megan to say "Thanks" for walking to school with me and introducing me to all your friends.
Let's see how tomorrow goes. We will meet out front at 8:30a.
Here's to hoping for a little more sleep tonight.

Summer of FUN 2011

It's been a great Summer: camps, playdates, water play, Lunches, Farmers Markets, arts & Crafts, the big move... I can't believe it is all coming to an end this week. School starts. See my sad face? I'm sure going to miss all the fun we've had!
