Playing carefully!

Since Austin's accident, we have not been able to ride bikes. We were told to make sure Austin took it easy. I don't think our Dr. knows Austin too well........
Although we have been taking it easy, we went out to play for a little bit before the rain hit.
Austin on his big wheel. (he took it nice and slow) around the corners.

Austin showing his brother how his "cell phone" works for his Handy Manny ride. (a new toy he got for his birthday)! Thanks Meme & Pa!
Kain feels like he's part of the action now that he has a ride on toy of his own.
Austin taking it easy. As he knows he does not want to go to the Dr. again and go through what he went through at the beginning of the week. Although we do go back on Friday to get the staples removed. (hoping for the best!!!) And just an update: his head is looking really good. We are able to cover it right up with his head of hair. When you are looking at him in this picture, the staples are on the right side of his hairline. Can't see it, can you?
Kain checking out all the buttons. It plays music, talks, sings. It's a very fun interactive ride on!
We've started a "baby" playgroup. While the big kids, AKA: the brother(s)/sister(s) are at school, the little ones play. We have Kain (2.23) Ethan (3.23) Elise (2.24) and Ty (3.23) who get together to play with us. So cute that they all have birthdays which fall within a month of eachother.

Kain and Ethan
Such a cute little playgroup and a fun group of mom's too!

Well, It's official. We have a 1 year old in our house!

Kain's Birth(day) will definitely go down in the books as "unforgettable" Can't believe he's 1! Rough start to our day as Austin fell and cut his head open. When we were at the Dr.'s office, Kain was crying because Austin was crying and than when Kain had to leave the room, Austin wanted Kain with him. (We walked away with 5 staples and a very scared little boy.) Kain was just happy we brought his brother back to him. Austin after all his trauma was happy to give Kain two of the four stickers he got to pick out when we left! Who would of thought one year ago this is where we would be today?
The Dr. told us we had to hang low, so that's just what we did. Austin, yes, Austin took a two hour nap which gave Kain and I some time to play together just the two of us. We had fun playing with all his new birthday toys. When Austin woke up, we went to the library and went to pick up cupcakes for Kain's Birthday dinner.
It ended up being a good day. Everyone is sound asleep in bed after a long Birth (day)!

Kim and Brian had a care package waiting for us when we returned home from the Dr. What a nice surprise- Brightened Austin's day!

Kain's Cake

Kain successfully enjoyed "smashing" his cake!

Happy 1st Birthday Kain Taylor

We love you! Love Mom, Dad and Austin

One Happy Weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope your day was spent with the ones you love!!
We had a very full filled weekend! Eric finally arrived home last night just in time for a birthday dinner and cake. Today, (Sunday) I went to do my taping for the "Hoover Floormate" commercial. It started at 9:30am and lasted nearly 4 hours. I have never cleaned up so many spills, had so many "takes" and had so much make-up on. Not to mention my hair was touched up after every "action shot". It was so fun!! I loved it. It is set to be "on air" at the end of March. Once I got home we headed down to the beach. How could we pass up this beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sunny sky. What a wonderful, yet busy weekend!!
Walking on the pier! Beautiful Sunny and 75 degrees. (on Feb. 14th!)
Austin and Kain love the sand. Kain is enjoying scooping it up and digging and Austin loves to cover his feet in it! The beach was so packed today. You would think it was Summer in CA!
Austin showing Kain the ropes!
Austin jumping on the sand hills.
Due to the storms we had a while back, the sand was piled up so high. Austin was loving jumping down the sand hills.
Kain loves to play in the sand. I think we found a new hobby! Good thing we live so close. We'll be back tomorrow!
This picture just doesn't do justice. It was so cute. Kain was posing by the surfer statue. He was trying to stand like him.
The Hermosa Pier! It was so busy today. Not a cloud in the sky!
Kain had no idea what to think. Can you tell by his face he probably thinks we're crazy?Valentine's morning the boys woke up to a few surprises at the kitchen table.
Austin was so excited. He got a "pump" for his air rocket balloons. My head still hurts from the sound of these. What was I thinking?
Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband and one of a kind Dad!
The boys were so excited to FINALLY have dad home. We got to throw him a little party for his birthday! Bob and Linda stopped by too to help us sing and have cake!
Austin helped with all the decorations!
Dad was SO EXCITED to be home too!

Kain in the pantry

I must admit, it is kinda cute. Every morning when we come down for breakfast Kain goes right to the pantry to see what he can get his hands on. Today, it was a box of Austin's snacks. Austin never came to see what Kain was doing as he is sooo use to this morning ritual! I guess I could move this stuff up a shelf, but it's not like he's hurting anything. That is, until Austin opens his snacks at school and sees how crumbled they are. HA HA HA.

Oh the fun we have here..

Gotta love when you ask one to look or one to smile, only one of them does it at a time. Any moment I can get of these little guys smiling I snag it because their smiles brighten my day! I'm sure you'll see why......
Makes you wanna smile, doesn't it? Getting ready to leave today for our weekly Library story time.. Austin and Kain were just too cute together.
After we went to the library, Austin got to use his Valentine money (after of coarse stopping at McDonald's to use his gift cards) couldn't wait one day to use those....Kain is saving his for the right moment! :) Although he was saying, "mama, mama, mama" in the back seat. I wonder if he was asking for his? but then I asked Austin to break off a small piece of his fry and he stopped-he was happy again! Isn't it funny what the 2nd one learns..oh boy!
Austin chose a play-doh ice cream machine. I tell ya-this is the best toy ever! I had fun playing with it. Austin had so much fun playing with it. He played and made, "Eric" and "Peyten" ice cream. None for Kain because he can't have any yet...but this is the coolest toy. I couldn't have picked a better toy out! (for my enjoyment too!) Finally no transformers.
He made sprinkles, cones, put a straw in a few things, created gummie bears with the attachments-so many things you could make with this one machine.
And he choose this gift all on his own!
Good thing it was raining today.

Lastly, everyone always asks about "us". This weekend we had a date night at Sushi-Sei in Hermosa Beach- right on the ocean. It was great sushi. I tried a new roll. Can't tell you what it was b/c Eric seems to not tell me before I try it.. but I liked it! Then we went for Gelato. YUM. Due to the big race I was in on Sunday-it was an early evening.. but well worth it since Eric has been so busy lately!

Big Brother

So today we thought we would see if we could teach Kain to drink out of a sippy cup. I needed Austin's help since Kain looks up to his big brother. Check out our experience.

Seriously, Mom? You want me to drink this?
Look Kain-Like this:
Alright, we've got it!
Oh, and we tried Ice Cream today too. Austin is such a good big brother. I think Kain is growing on him. :)
See Kain, it's good!!!
Aren't they cute?
Austin and Kain have been eating our house out! They must be growing!! (hopefully not too fast!)
